The Best of San Francisco: Lola of SF

Bibi is a San Francisco Classic.

After college, she responded to the siren’s call- said adios to Albuquerque and drove to San Francisco. She found a room to rent in the Marina, with parking, and never looked back.

Her first job was at Starbucks on Union Street; then she became enthralled with the high-end jewler, Union Street Goldsmith and evolved into a superstar in sales. In no time, Bibi was picked up (stolen away) by HomeGoods Designs by Kress and eventually became a VP of Sales and was travelling to the Far East every other month.

All the while, Bibi was the one who sought out great parties and fun people. Her “Pilates Pals” were six single women who attended art openings, wine tastings, explored new bars, cafes and film festivals. Janize was her “work friend” and they went out for drinks a few times a week. Naturally, the two ran into the same faces and became pals with several groups of guys. Bibi had been in the City for five years and the new kids in town thought she was a goddess…She knew where to find the best Irish Coffee, Oysters, Dive Bars, Food Trucks and where parties were happening. Her social network was vast and her social calendar bustling.

She has one store – one very favorite clothing store – in San Francisco. For years, she never revealed her secret shopping Mecca: Lola San Francisco in Noe Valley (Corner of Clipper and Sanchez.) Bibi knows what she likes – and Lola can create it. Wow.

Lola does one of a kind, exquisite and eclectic dresses, coats, jackets, sweaters and divine hand bags.

Lola designs lovely, high end, leather jackets which Bibi is magnetized to…The Pilates Pals  just assumed all of  her tres unique clothing came from her trips East.

One Christmas, Bibi was very  jet-lagged and without gifts for her pals…she popped into Lola SF and bought six BagBags from Lola. The girls went wild and the cat was out of the BagBag.

Lola SF is now a familar haunt for Bibi’s Girls.

Buy less. Choose well. Make it last. Quality, not quantity. Everybody’s buying far too many clothes.
